2011 Aston Martin DB9 mild facelift revealed

Aston Martin has released the first pictures of the facelifted 2011 DB9.

While the changes are subtle, the updated model boasts a new front bumper, a bright finish grille, a revised lower air intake (with a bright hexagonal mesh screen), new headlights, restyled side sills, silver brake calipers, and 20-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features an improved Bluetooth system, new 'Double Apex' trim, and an optional Bang & Olufsen audio system.

In terms of performance, the 6.0-liter V12 will continue to make 350 kW and 600 Nm of torque. Despite the carryover engine, Aston Martin decided to replace the passive damping system with a new Adaptive Damping System (ADS) which offers improved ride comfort and sharper handling. It will be standard across the DB9 lineup.

According to Ian Minards, Aston Martin's Product Development Director, "The DB9 was the first car built at Gaydon adopting the VH architecture. It has evolved every year since, with significant changes including a power upgrade and successive reductions in CO2 emissions. The latest package of improvements goes further than ever, highlighting the DB9's qualities as a true sporting GT and underlining its role as the backbone car of our range."
