Gemballa has unveiled their new Mirage GT Gold Edition.
Based on the Porsche Carrera GT, the Gold Edition follows in the footsteps of Gemballa's previously revealed Mirage GT, Mirage GT Carbon Edition, and Mirage GT Matt Edition.
As the name suggests, the Gold Edition features various gilded accents on the wheels, mirrors, air intakes, side skirts, and wing. Inside, the theme continues with gold touches on the instrument cluster, center console, door handles, shifter, and steering wheel. In a nod to practicality, Gemballa offers a HLS suspension which raises the car 45mm so the Mirage can tackle speed bumps and parking garages.
Power comes from a massive V10 engine that produces 478 kW and 630 Nm of toque. This enables the Gold Edition to run from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.7 seconds, and top out at over 335 km/h.

Designed to be "clean and subtle", the package features a discrete polyurethane front lip extension and the complete removal of all stock OEM reflectors. Other changes include a new "challenge" rear diffuser and 20-inch BBS LM chrome wheels outfitted with Nitto Invo tires.
In the coming months, IND will outfit the car with an Eisenmann Sport exhaust system, a Rogue short shift kit, and a performance shift knob and boot.
Although official information wasn't released, power likely comes from the standard 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 304kW and 400Nm of torque.
Created for an unnamed client of IND's Portfolio styling service, the Silverstone II isn't "a mass produced modified car, but rather a car that is uniquely our client's."

G-POWER X5 Typhoon RS with 460kW revealed
http://www.maxauto.co.za/CntView.aspx?CatID=26&CntID=802
Because no serious tuner can accept that a factory car will be more powerful than their tuned version of the same car, these power-loving companies are always trying to outgun the standard car by a mile if they can. G-POWER's reputation is one of gung-ho power that seems to know no boundaries.
As recently as in March this year the tuner released the X5 G-POWER TYPHOON with 386kW. Since then BMW has confirmed the power figure of the standard X5 M to be 408kW. Not to be upset by the OEM the tuner now brings out the X5 G-POWER TYPHOON RS which forks out a phenomenal 460kW and maximum torque of 700Nm from a completely re-engineered 4.8-litre V8.
The engine has been force-fed using the G-POWER SK III RS supercharger. The boost pressure is 1.0 bar. The core of the supercharger is the ASA supercharger system which is also used in the Alpina B5S, B6S and B7 models, as well as the B6 GT3 racer. It makes the X5 go from 0 - 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, 0 - 200km/h in 16 seconds to eventually reach a top speed of 285km/h. Gears are selected using a 6-speed automatic transmission while grip and go come from the xDrive AWD system.
Kit used includes a steel high-performance exhaust system, racing catalysts and rear mufflers, and a large-volume aluminium charge air cooling system at the front.
Inside G-POWER fitted accessories like a TYPHOON design speedometer, a sports steering wheel and aluminium bits. Customers can pretty much spec the car do their own personal desires. Each X5 G-POWER TYPHOON RS can be ordered directly or can be created from an existing customer X5 (E70).

SA Government to help carmakers
http://www.maxauto.co.za/CntView.aspx?CatID=26&CntID=803
South Africa's government will offer support to struggling companies in the auto sector and a rescue package for the clothing and textile industry, President Jacob Zuma said on Wednesday.
It will also set aside 2.4 billion rand from the country's skills and unemployment insurance funds to help ease the strain on workers retrenched as a result of the global and domestic economic downturn.
Africa's biggest economy slumped into its first recession in nearly two decades this year, stung by a global crisis that has slashed demand particularly for manufacturing and mining products.
The automotive industry, one of the biggest in the manufacturing sector and a key employer, has been in decline for more than two years.
"Clear and purposeful action"
Zuma's office said in a statement, after a meeting of a task team set up late last year to respond to the crisis, that recent data showed the global slowdown was "biting deep in South Africa".
"Growing job losses and rising indebtedness required clear and purposeful action to respond to the needs of the people," it said.
Zuma told reporters key responses included offering support for distressed companies in the auto sector and a rescue package for clothing and textile companies.
Government would also increase incentives for the manufacture of capital equipment, transport equipment and fabricated metals linked to the multi-billion rand infrastructure development programme.
The state-owned Industrial Development Corporation would make available 6 billion rand over two years to deal with the effects of the crisis, he said.
The state and its utilities, including power group Eskom, plan to spend 787 billion rand over the next three years to boost infrastructure.
Two weeks
Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel said the trade and industry department would give specifics on the auto sector support and the textile rescue package within the next two weeks.
The help may have conditions, though, such as limits on executive pay and shareholder returns, he said, without giving more details.
South Africa's clothing and textile industry has suffered for a number of years, initially from cheaper imports from China and now the economic downturn, with thousands of jobs at risk.
Zuma said a training layoff scheme - first mooted in his state of the nation speech in May - would offer an alternative to retrenchments.
Under the scheme, the government would pay half a worker's basic pay, up to 6 239 rand a month, for companies to train affected employees. This would only be for workers earning less than 180 000 a year.
The money would come from the National Skills Fund and the Unemployment Insurance Fund, which companies and employees pay levies to. Additional money would come from existing industry training institutions, that are also fundied by levies.
Trade unions, which have heaped pressure on Zuma since his inauguration in May, through strikes and other demands for policy change, said they were happy with the measures proposed.
"We are very happy about the progress that has been achieved," Zwelinzima Vavi, general secretary of labour federation COSATU, said.
"Government has come seriously to the party, driving the process at the highest level."
